Income up. Inequality down. But what of rural folk?

Despite the prevailing political narrative, income inequality shrunk during 2015, while household income grew at the fastest rate on record. Not that such facts will ever enter into a political discourse that “knows” what’s actually happening, due to the United State’s media-based campaigning, instead of fact-based.

Unfortunately, there is a certain segment of the population for whom these gains have not appeared – the rural component of America lost income during the same period, as jobs are increasingly centred on cities and closely associated business hubs.
