Space Project Enterprise

Space Project Enterprise is

> a joint study conducted by the Air Force Space and Cyber Strategy Center in partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and in collaboration with the Space Frontier Foundation, National Space Society, and Space Studies Institute, and other space enthusiasts. This is an online workshop for brainstorming.

The study is being led by Colonel M.V. “Coyote” Smith, PhD, USAF. The plan is to release a report by Oct. 1, 2011. The report will seek answers to the following questions,

> 1. What commercial space ventures are in the works? 2. What investments can USG [US Government] make in NewSpace that will ultimately promote its security, prestige, and wealth? 3. What space capabilities should the USG request the commercial sector pursue? 4. What responsibilities/liabilities does the USG incur from various NewSpace activities? 5. What trails can USG blaze to open opportunities for commercial space ventures to follow? 6. What responsibilities should USG assume as a result of successful commercial space ventures?

Finally, the report will conclude by laying out a vision of future USG spacefaring based on the lessons learned in this study.

They seem to want public input but I don’t see a mechanism for submitting write-ups. However, the blog format allows for comments.
