The Return of Language

The corpus of languages is shrinking as smaller languages are wiped out by regionally dominant tongues, and native speakers die off. Except… proponents of those regional languages are now fighting back using technology. By utilizing the ability to create digital dictionaries, recordings of native speakers as a pronunciation guide, and accompanying material that teaches the history and thematics of the culture in question, it has become possible to resurrect all-but-forgotten tongues from their fugue states.
