The Ultimate Paternity Test: Are We Martian?

Quite possibly, according to some bright people from Mass Gen, MIT, and Harvard. It’s the panspermia hypothesis once more, but rather than being from space or an asteroid, we were born on Mars during the wet, lush phase of the planet’s life cycle, and then hitched a ride on some rocks across the gap.

I think it’s fairly unlikely, given how fast multicellular life has been shown to evolve, but it’s certainly an entertaining thought experiment.
