Virginia commercial spaceflight bill passes committee

Jack Kennedy reports that Virginia Senate Bill 1447, which directs state tax revenues generated by commercial spaceflight businesses to go to the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority, passed in committee today by a 15 to 0 vote: VA Senate Advances NewSpace Measures – Spaceports.

Jack says that bill “and another bill exempting certain space launch data from the state’s Freedom of Information Act” should pass in the Senate and go the 100-member House of Delegates. See Jack’s post for a full report on the bills.
