Day of Remembrance

Today is the 44th anniversary of the Apollo 1 fire and tomorrow will be the 25th anniversary of the Challenger disaster. Next Tuesday, February 1st, will mark eight years since the loss of Columbia. NASA has set January 27th each year as the official Day of Remembrance for these tragedies as well as for the loss of other astronauts who died in the course of their work.

Charles Bolden issued this statement today: Message from the Administrator: Day of Remembrance.

Here are links to three NASA sites: /– Apollo 1 – January 27, 1967 /– Challenger – January 28, 1986 /– Columbia – Feb. 1, 2003
