ExoMars Drill Tested for 2018 Mission

The European Space Agency (ESA) ExoMars Drill is devised to acquire soil samples down to a maximum depth of 2 metres, in a variety of soil types. The video shows footage from tests of a prototype drill. This mission was originally planned to launch this year on a Russian booster but has been delayed to launch on two American Atlas V boosters in a larger mission in 2016 and 2018.
